- This famous little Tavern about an hour north of Tokyo by bullet train, is super famous for having their resident monkey Fuku-chan serve patrons beer. Some for animal rights have condemned this, but the monkey does only work a very short, and the owners have certificates for animal care from the government. The monkeys all seemed very happy playing with all the customers.
The owner probably spends a lot of time picking up edamame off the floor :D
I love the originality of this extraordinary place. But as soon as I first saw this video, I immediately searched the comments to find the inevitable knee-jerk (and silly?) references to how cruel and mean this is to the monkeys. the point is that I do not see any evidence of cruelty here, and indeed, the monkeys may well be enjoying themselves far beyond the norm! Monkeys are generally very intelligent; these ones are apparently loved, and I believe that [all] animals pick up the ensuing vibes very readily!

And she seems to be enjoying every bit of it helping at the restaurant and everything I love it I want her so bad God bless her you can tell she's being well cared for it too and that's very important God blessed the monkey and the family

I'm not sure how I feel about this.. very cute and funny yes, and I'm sure the monkeys are well cared for... But being forced to perform and serve people, do tricks etc .. kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

This is disturbing, and the cute music only makes it worse lol! That is not a happy or natural monkey. That is a monkey doing the bare minimum to satisfy it's owner, bring in tips, and avoid abuse.

去年、テレビで見たことがあります。
身近に猿と触れ合うことの出来る居酒屋だから有名な観光地でもないのに外国人の方たちが多く訪れると放送していたと記憶しています。
おしぼりやおつまみなどを届けた後に猿が口を開き歯を見せているのは、威嚇行動なのでしょうか？
お店を訪れた人がこうした猿の表情を見て「怒っている」と言っていましたね。
「虐待されている猿」と云う視点でこのビデオを見ると「奇妙な不自然さと不快感」を感じました。
そうです、威嚇行動です。本能で出てしまいます。
サルは目があうとケンカの合図です。上下関係が厳しいサル社会では位が低いサルは上のサルの目は決して見ません。
野猿公園や猿回しを見に行くとサルと目を合わせないように・・という注意があります。
知り合いがこの店に行ったところ、一切そういった注意はなかったそうです。
相手と目があう・・というのは相手が人間であってもサルにとってはストレスです。
特にこのような酔客相手なら、尚更です。私たちが考える以上にかなりの精神的負担が大きいです。
動物園でも動画でもいいので、サルの顔を沢山見てから、ウェイターをやらされている子の顔と比べてみてください。
見えてくるものがあると思います。huahua達もそうです。
暴力を使っているところがなければ虐待だと、非常にわかりにくいですがここの店主は恐怖でサルたちを支配しているのが見て取れます。
他の動画を見ると短い棒を店主は持っています。
この店に行った知り合いはサルの飼育員をしているのですが、店主が棒をチラッと見せるとサルの態度が変わったそうです。
日本には動物を守る確かな法律がないのが、とても悲しいです。

店にはからかったり目を合わせたりしないでという貼り紙がありますけど
おそらく見落としていたのでは？
